Grimes is an artist out of Montreal getting all sorts of attention right now. Her music is low and dreamy psychedelic instrumentals with sparse vocals from Claire Boucher herself. Its all made with drum machines and keyboards. One of her eps Geidi Primes is available for free download from her site here. I think its worth the hard drive space.

Montreal based musician d'Eon released the instrumental version of his songs from Darkbloom, a split ep with Grimes. (More from Grimes soon).

SBTRKT is coming out with a self titled album June 28th on Young Turks label. The same label that hosts the XX, Jamie XX's solo stuff and much more. You can stream the whole album and see if its the right flavor for you. "Wildfire" features the vocals of Yukimi Nagano (of Little Dragon) and I really dig it. Check it out.

New song from The Weeknd

The Weeknd is preparing two more mixtapes to be released. One names Thursdays that will be released this summer and another named Echoes of Silence that will come out in the fall. I am not sure if this new song, "The Birds (Part 1)", will be on either.
