Mix 8: Ommm

This mix of songs is about infinity and nothingness. Which to me, is interesting to contemplate the similarities of their nature, even though they are opposites by first definition. I wanted to create an atmosphere with a lot of space. The music starts more self reflective then builds as it absorbs the universal energy. The mix comes down to relaxing pace ending in a shavasana.

Download the mix below, hopefully you find something you like.

"Bookfiend" MF Doom x Clams Casino

Los Wild Ones

“Los Wild Ones” is a documentary about Wild Records—a LA record label comprised of young Hispanic musicians, run by an Irishman, and specializing in American 50’s rock and roll.  The film centers on the familial relationship that manager, Rob Kennedy, has with his musicians and the responsibility he feels towards them as he grapples with his stubborn resistance to modern media and his desire to keep the record label—and his musicians—afloat.

If Kennedy had his way, the music that he records in his backyard studio—often in only one or two takes—would be exclusively sold on vinyl, and NEVER listened to via headphones.  Raw, authentic, and with an energy reminiscent of the early punk scene, Wild Records musicians put out some great records and have a really fun live show.
"Poison" by The Rhythm Shakers “Baby Please Don’t Go” by Gizelle “Rip it Rip it Up” by Lil Luis y Los Wild Teens “Shotdown” by Omar Romero and the Stringpoppers “Last Time” by Hi-Strung Ramblers “All I Can Do Is Cry” by Chuy and the Bobcats This post was brought to you from Ronald Gomez. Ronald is a lifelong friend who resides in Austin Texas. Hopefully we all get to see more great stuff from him.

Jai Paul Statement

Crazy internet world. Well...

"As widely reported, on Sunday 14th April, music by XL Recordings artist Jai Paul was illegally made available via a fake Bandcamp account. This music was not uploaded by Jai and it's not his debut album - it is a collection of various unfinished recordings from Jai's past. Neither XL or Jai will take any money from the sale of this music. We have been working with Bandcamp and PayPal to resolve this situation and they have told us all purchases will be refunded within the next 7 days" - XL Recordings
