The reason being is that I am a statistician, but I also love other things. Like music and art. And I assume people are not that interested in statistical science enough to freshen up on their down time. Well, I am posting this because people ask me all the time, "What do you study? Statistics is so broad". I always then give some super summed up version. But, I stumbled upon this video and was blown away. This is pretty much exactly what I do. Except, expressed beautifully and artistically. (I know art and science in one post... I am getting a chubby)

"As a former microbiologist recently turned visual artist, I seek to create work that is less of an intersection of art and science and more of a genuine fusion of the two. During my graduate research I invented a new medium that combines photographic process with microbiological practices. Triad God is a unique duo from London. Fader says:
"Despite all the conflicting information floating around on the web, Triad God appears to be the handle of one Vinh Ngan, a UK-based MC born of Vietnamese and Chinese parents who was raised in South-East London and raps primarily in Cantonese. While frequenting the casino circuit in the city’s Chinatown district, he reportedly linked up with local producer Benjy Keating, aka Palmistry; the pair recorded a first EP, Aym G 4 Life, and then a viral mixtape called NXB, which is short-hand for “New Cross Boys,” referring to the rough neighborhood where Vinh grew up. By a mysterious turn of events that may or may not have involved a tip from James Ferraro, NXB is being reissued by Los Angeles imprint Hippos in Tanks on November 13th, with a full-length in the works for 2013."

Although the life and deeds of the man who discovered such treasures as the California golden poppy and Douglas fir remains unknown to most, one Dutch tunesmith has found inspiration in his compelling story. Utrecht-based producer David Douglas shares more than a name with the 19th century plant-hunting Scotsman; like the Douglas of old, the 20-something beatmaker is invigorated by the greatness of nature, and uses it as his muse when creating rich and atmospheric sounds. On "Douglas Firs," Douglas uses synth pads and a wandering melody to create a warm and emotional track, but also delivers enough bass and kick to keep things constantly pulsating forward. As previously revealed (vimeo.com/44683198), last summer Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen and Rasmus Stolberg visited Piramida, an abandoned mining settlement located on Spitsbergen, just 1,000km from the North Pole. Nine days of exploring later, and the band had collected over 1,000 sound recordings and inspiration for the album they would subsequently write and record in Berlin.
Accompanying Hollow Mountain is a specially-commissioned visual piece created and directed by Oodls (Jakob Steen & Christoffer Frandsen). The clip features the band's own photos from their trip to Piramida as well as elements of Piramida album artwork (designed by Hvass&Hannibal).
